PR Newswire
TORONTO

TORONTO, Dec. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Workers resolving to look for a new job or change careers in the New Year will have ample opportunities, depending on where they are looking.

To help workers get an idea of which jobs are growing the fastest in which areas, CareerBuilder.ca and Economic Modeling Specialists Intl. looked at the jobs with the highest projected job growth from 2014 to 2020 for each of most populous metropolitan areas in Canada.

Edmonton leads the top metros with 8 per cent projected growth from 2014 to 2020, followed closely by Calgary (7 per cent), Regina and Saskatoon (6 per cent each).

"Employment grew by an average of 21,300 per month in the six months leading to November, and our findings show that employers will continue adding jobs at a steady pace across a variety of industries and regions," said Mark Bania, Director of CareerBuilder Canada. "It is important for job seekers to be aware of the labour market growth trends as they consider their options in the coming years, particularly if they are in school or thinking of going back to school, or considering a career change."

The following are the top metros with the highest projected job growth between 2014 and 2020.
